The East Widening project upgraded Yellowhead Trail to 6 lanes, from 61 Street to the North Saskatchewan River. Construction is now complete.

Road widening and resurfacing was completed in 2021. Overhead sign installations and landscaping were completed in 2022. Landscaping repairs were completed in spring 2023.
