99 Street Bridge over Whitemud Drive Rehabilitation

About the Project

A 2023 condition assessment identified that the 99 Street Bridge over Whitemud Drive requires major rehabilitation to extend its lifespan and improve safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2027 and be completed in fall 2027. During this time, the bridge will be closed to accelerate construction work.

East-west movement on both sides of the bridge will be maintained. Detour routes will be shared prior to construction.

This project work includes:

• Repairing the concrete bridge deck and other bridge components
• Replacing the asphalt roadway surface on the bridge deck
• Replacing the  pedestrian railings and repairing the sidewalks
• Asphalt repaving north of the bridge from Gateway Boulevard to 99 Street and from north of the bridge to 44 Avenue
