Several road changes were completed for 128 Avenue as part of the Yellowhead Trail Conversion Project.
Changes Implemented
- A new sidewalk on the north side of 128 Avenue
- Intersection modifications for truck turning movements
- Removal of on-street parking
- New driving lane configuration:
- From 156 Street to 149 Street: 1 lane of travel in the eastbound direction and 2 lanes of travel in the westbound direction.
- From 149 Street to St. Albert Trail: 1 lane of travel in each direction with a centre left turning lane (2-way left turn).
Project Timeline
Construction
Road widening and resurfacing was completed in 2021. Overhead sign installations and landscaping were completed in 2022. Landscaping repairs were completed in spring 2023.
