Rehabilitation on the 112 Avenue Bridge, located over Wayne Gretzky Drive, will begin in spring 2026.
Project Update - January 2026
Construction on the 112 Avenue over Wayne Gretzky Drive Bridge is anticipated to begin in spring 2026 and is expected to be completed in fall 2027.
During construction, one lane in each direction on 112 Avenue will be maintained. No major detours will be required. However, traffic may be impacted during off-peak hours, including full closures overnight as necessary on 112 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive.
Project Overview
Originally built in 1972, the bridge had its first rehabilitation in 1997. Currently, the bridge accommodates both eastbound and westbound traffic, as well as pedestrians and cyclists.
The bridge is now in need of additional rehabilitation, primarily due to the poor road condition and corroded bridge rails. This rehabilitation project is expected to extend the bridge's lifespan for at least another 30 years.
