On 4 June 2026, the Canadian Armed Forces will conduct Exercise MOUNTAIN RAM 2026 in the Edmonton River Valley. Members of 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group and Regular and Reserve units from across Western Canada will compete in a multi-discipline physical fitness event, including a 29 km rucksack march, canoe portage and paddle, and a final rucksack run.
Members of the public may observe CAF personnel in physical training attire or operational dress at various locations throughout the river valley. No weapons will be carried. There will be no road or park closures, and public access to all areas will be maintained.
