Waste Services focuses on a healthy city and the promotion of waste reduction, which helps protect the environment, conserve valuable resources, send less waste to landfill and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Summer Storm Collection Has Ended

The City is no longer collecting storm-driven tree and branch debris at Community Recycling Depots. Residents can bring this debris to the Eco Station or the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, during regular business hours, for free disposal.

Please be advised fees may apply for other storm-driven debris, such as broken fences or materials pulled from a flooded basement
Yard waste fees still apply for non-residential customers

Soon, all residents in apartments, condos, row houses and other multi-unit buildings will sort food scraps and recycling from their garbage.

Interested in learning how to reuse and reduce waste? Come to a DIY Thursday or Swap Event at the Reuse Centre!

Take the guesswork out of sorting your waste

To print your waste collection calendar at home, select “My Collection Day” and type in your address. Then select “Get a calendar” and “Print a calendar”. You can then select the number of months to display per page and print.
