The Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC) is a unique collection of waste processing facilities. Garbage, food scraps and recycling collected from Edmonton homes is brought here.

Elm Wood Disposal

Bring elm wood to the Edmonton Waste Management Centre for free for residents. Elm wood must be sorted separately from other yard waste. Tell the scale operator that you have elm wood.

Extended Hours Due to Summer Storms

Eco Stations and Edmonton Waste Management Centre hours are extended from July 14-28 to help residents manage storm-driven tree and branch debris.

Eco Stations: Daily from 8am-8pm
Edmonton Waste Management Centre: 7:30am-7:30pm on weekdays and 8am-7pm on weekends.

Residents can continue to burn elm or bring it to the EWMC directly. Please do not take elm to an Eco Station or put it in your food scraps cart.

Residents can also drop off storm-driven tree and branch debris at designated areas at Community Recycling Depots.

Please Note:

Free storm-driven tree and branch disposal is for residents only. Yard waste fees still apply for non-residential customers.

Other storm-driven debris, such as broken fences or materials pulled from a flooded basement, are not accepted at Community Recycling Depots and will need to be disposed of at an Eco Station or the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, where fees may apply.
