Big Bin Events allow residents to dispose of household items too large for regular collection at no charge.

Wearing a mask or face covering is a reasonable precaution for some, but is not required of patrons at Big Bin Events. Where possible, keep 2 metres of distance between yourself and others. We require that you unload your own vehicles. Expect longer wait times as a result.

The City of Edmonton is hosting Big Bin events for household items that can’t be set out for regular waste collection. Seven weekend events will be held in various locations throughout the City.

City residents will be able to drop off items such as old couches, chairs, mattresses, and appliances free of charge. Computers and other electronics will also be accepted for recycling.

Do not bring household hazardous waste like paint, varnish, household cleaners or batteries. Please take those items to an Eco Station.

Eco Stations will hold free drop-off weekend events for residential waste only in September 2021. Visit edmonton.ca/ecostations for more information.
