The Materials Recovery Facility processes recyclables collected from Edmonton households.
The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is a recycling plant at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre. It processes recyclables collected in blue bags, apartment blue bins and recycling depots. The facility is owned by the City of Edmonton.
The MRF is currently undergoing scheduled renovations to replace end-of-life equipment and improve operating efficiency. Construction is expected to be complete in early 2023. The renovations are not affecting recycling service; all recyclables collected from residents are being processed at a third-party facility until construction is complete.
