As of January 1, 2023, the City will be directing TTY service to TELUS TTY (711).

For TTY services:
1) Dial 711 from your TTY device
2) The TELUS Relay agent will answer by typing "TELUS RELAY SERVICE, THIS IS (agent's name & number)", followed by GA (for "go ahead")
3) Type 780-442-5311, then type GA
3) The TELUS Relay agent will dial the number and will let you know how the connection is progressing for example (ringing 1...2...3...), inform you when someone answers, and then give the person’s name (if provided)

ETS, in partnership with Telus, has installed TTY public payphones in all LRT Stations. We have led the way in acting on recommendations from the Task Force for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. TTY phones assist the deaf and hard of hearing to communicate over the phone and are located at the concourse level in all LRT Stations. 

TTY phones are also located at these transit centres:

  • Castle Downs Transit Centre
  • Clareview East/West Transit Centre
  • Century Park Transit Centre

and LRT Stations:

  • Clareview LRT Station
  • Coliseum LRT Station (Rexall Place)
  • Churchill LRT Station
  • Bay/Enterprise Square LRT Station
  • Corona LRT Station
  • University LRT Station
  • Health Sciences/Jubilee LRT Station
  • South Campus/Fort Edmonton Park LRT Station
