EPS-patrolling-with-Transit-Peace-Officers

All Edmontonians deserve a safe and secure transit journey. Through collaboration between the City of Edmonton, Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society and Edmonton Police Service, the Enhanced Transit Safety Plan advances safety, the perception of safety, integration and well-being across the entire transit system.

Through the plan, Edmonton’s approach to transit safety is guided by these four pillars:

  1. Safety:  All people are physically safe in transit spaces
  2. Perception of Safety: Edmontonians perceive transit to be safe and are not deterred from using transit for safety reasons
  3. Well-being: Edmontonians are connected to culturally appropriate supports, reducing the use of transit spaces for non-travel purposes
  4. Integration: Transit safety is strengthened through collaboration
