Communications and Business Intelligence supports the delivery and improvement of City programs and services by drawing on and understanding resident experiences, driving evidence-based decision-making and integrating business performance. The Branch integrates work across the organization to advance the strategy, design and delivery of programs and services that are effective, efficient, relevant and work well for everyone who uses them.

Employee Services

Employee Services empowers employees to achieve organizational and workforce outcomes by supporting a positive employee experience. The Branch provides integrated HR services to people leaders and manages workforce diversity, training, culture, policies, union negotiations, compensation, payroll and benefits.

Open City and Technology

The Open City and Technology Branch leverages the City’s data, business solutions and diverse technologies to increase internal and external data sharing, optimize processes and deliver quality service. To do this work, the Branch embraces the expertise of our larger ecosystem by developing community partnerships to ensure we are using technology and information to provide an exceptional quality of life for Edmontonians.

Workforce Safety and Employee Health

The Workforce Safety, Security and Employee Health Branch is responsible for ensuring the City meets its safety and security obligations. The Branch achieves this by enhancing health and safety performance, safeguarding City assets, and proactively preventing injuries and absences. It manages, monitors and continuously improves the safety and employee health management system, collaborating with business partners to implement it across their operations.
