Non-residential Customers Yard Waste Changes

Beginning April 2, 2026, non-residential customers dropping off loose yard waste at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre will be charged a $70 per tonne tipping fee to address the processing costs associated with this waste.

Non-residential waste will only be accepted at the EWMC and non-residential yard waste in plastic bags will be treated as standard non-residential waste at $102 per tonne. Customers will have the option of unbagging their yard waste at the EWMC.

The Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC) is a unique collection of waste processing facilities. Garbage, food scraps and recycling collected from Edmonton homes is brought here.

Elm Wood Disposal

Bring elm wood to the Edmonton Waste Management Centre for free for residents. Elm wood must be sorted separately from other yard waste. Tell the scale operator that you have elm wood.

Garbage
