When travelling eastbound on Yellowhead Trail, please use the new northbound Anthony Henday exit to access the site. Please be aware that Google Maps & GPS directions for getting to the EWMC are incorrect.

The Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC) is a unique collection of advanced waste processing and research facilities. Owned and operated by the City of Edmonton, the EWMC is an integral part of Edmonton's sustainable approach to waste management. 

Free tours are offered for individuals or small groups. Reservations required. Call 780-496-6879.

Construction Access Route

Please use our construction map & directions. There is currently construction en route to the Edmonton Waste Management Centre. When travelling eastbound on Yellowhead Trail, please use the NEW northbound Anthony Henday exit to access the site.

Will convert non-recyclable and non-compostable waste into fuel.

Sorts and processes recyclable materials.

Captures and converts landfill gas to electricity.

Processes mixed and segregated loads of construction materials.

Processes computer equipment & other electronic products for recycling.

Converts organic waste and biosolids into compost.
