The Community Clean Up Grant provides funds to organizations so that they can conduct a community waste or litter removal project.
Each spring, dozens of Edmonton community groups apply for help to get rid of any large, bulky items cluttering up the back alleys, streets or other areas in their neighbourhoods.
Under the Community Clean Up Grant Program, formerly known as the Community Bin Grant Program, the City offers funds on a first-come, first-served basis that can be used for bin and truck rentals, disposal costs, litter removal projects, and other initiatives that promote community cleanliness.
Community Clean Up Projects that qualify for funding will fall into one of two funding streams.
Applicants can apply for funds for a waste or litter removal project in their community. A project can consist of one event or an ongoing initiative.
Applicants who choose this funding stream are required to identify one or more reuse and waste diversion initiatives that will be used as part of their project. They can choose to work with an organization to provide reuse or recycling opportunities as part of their project. Applicants are required to provide detailed reporting on the organization and the items that have been diverted as a result of the reuse initiative. See the
