Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal construction is underway in Meyokumin.

Construction Update - October 2026

It’s the third year of Meyokumin Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal construction is underway. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb, gutter and street lighting.

Work is ongoing in the following locations:

  • Roadway paving on 22 Avenue from 57 Street to 52 Street, 20A Avenue from 56 Street to 55 Street, 56 Street from 22 Avenue to 20A Avenue, 55 Street from 20A Avenue to 19A Avenue, 21 Avenue from 54 Street to 53 Street, 54 Street from 22 Avenue to 21 Avenue, 53 Street from 22 Avenue to 21 Avenue, 20 Avenue from 55 Street to 52 Street and on 52 Street from 22 Avenue to 19 Avenue
  • Roadway foaming on 18A Avenue from 54 Street to 51 Street, 17A Avenue from 53 Street to 51 Street, 17A Avenue from 54 Street to 51 Street, 51 Street cul-de-sac and 51 Street from 18A Avenue to 17 Avenue
  • Road removals on 54 Street from 17 Avenue to Mill Woods Road South
  • Road reconstruction and paving of the parking lot at the corner store complex, located at the intersection of 19A Avenue and 57 Street
  • Replacement of street light poles and luminaires for the 2026 scope of work

Upcoming work is occurring in the following locations:

  • Roadway paving on 54 Street from 18 Avenue to Mill Woods Road South
  • CCC / deficiency work is ongoing
  • Landscaping: Northeast corner of the neighbourhood, southeast corner of the neighbourhood and 54 Street from 19 Avenue to 17 Avenue

The City of Edmonton and EPCOR are working together to construct Low Impact Development, which will help with stormwater retention and help mitigate flooding.

If you live in the 2026 construction area, please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information along with details on landscaping and access. All residents and business owners are asked to access their homes and businesses through the back entrances and alleys, where possible, during construction. If no alley access is available and/or you have special access requirements (such as DATS or a temporary access ramp  to the front of your home), please contact the Construction Project Manager, David Ha, 780-496-4055, to coordinate.

Construction in Meyokumin began in spring 2024 and is expected to take 3 years (planned completion late fall 2026). Neighbourhood renewal in Meyokumin is progressing on time and on budget.
