Papaschase Industrial Pavement Renewal - July 2026

Construction is underway and is expected to be complete in late fall 2026.

The project includes the removal and replacement of isolated sections of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, and commercial accesses, the rehabilitation and repaving of the roadways and minor landscaping restoration.

The first phase of the work entails the isolated repair of concrete curbs, sidewalk and accesses. This portion of the construction will be done in phases working on one side of the road at a time in order to maintain on-street parking. To maintain access to businesses and parking lots, accesses will be reconstructed in two halves, where required.

Concrete repairs in the western half of the project (97–101 Street, 44–48 Avenue) began the week of May 4, 2026, and are currently ongoing. Repairs in the eastern half of the project (93–97 Street, 45–51 Avenue) are scheduled to begin in late June.

Rehabilitation and repaving of the roadways is tentatively scheduled to start in early July. Work will progress in the same order of the concrete repairs.

Construction bulletins have been delivered to impacted properties. The contractor working on behalf of the City (Park Paving) also delivered construction start up bulletins to all impacted properties in early May 2026. The contractor will deliver an additional bulletin which will outline their anticipated start dates for each phase of work before the construction begins.

About the Program

As a part of the Neighbourhood Renewal Program, the City will be coordinating road construction in industrial neighbourhoods. Prior to construction starting, property owners will receive a bulletin outlining the estimated start and finish dates and contact information.

Industrial Neighbourhood Renewal consists of road rehabilitation and road reconstruction, depending on the condition of the road. Road rehabilitation includes asphalt overlay, or road reclamation first, then an asphalt overlay. Road reconstruction removes the existing asphalt and road base, and replaces it with a new road base and asphalt paving. Other spot concrete repairs are done as well.
