Parking Lot Renewal

To ensure all Edmontonians have safe access to amenities and attractions, the City of Edmonton is renewing five parking lots. This work involves a process known as mill and overlay. This removes a layer of existing asphalt and lays new material, prolonging the lifecycle of the parking lot. 

In 2026, the following parking lots will undergo renewal:

• Castle Downs Arena
• Prince of Wales Armoury
• Michael Cameron Arena
• Wîhkwêntôwin Outdoor Pool
• Glengarry Arena

Construction will start June 2026. Exact construction dates will be shared on this page as they are determined.

The public should anticipate parking lot closures during renewals. The project is working with the various facilities to schedule the closures at times that will minimize impact to the public.

This project will not change the size, layout or capacity of the parking lots.
