Construction Update - April 2026
It’s the third year of Beverly Heights Alley Renewal, and we are scheduled to start the week of May 4, weather permitting. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb, gutter and street lighting.
This year, the majority of construction will take place from east of 36 Street from south of 118 Avenue to 105 Avenue. Please view this scope map to see the 2026 construction area and review what to expect during Alley Renewal construction.
For those who live in the 2025 construction areas, the outstanding road deficiency work is scheduled to start at the same time as this year’s construction.
Please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information along with details on landscaping and access. All residents and business owners are asked to access their homes and businesses through the back entrances and alleys, where possible, during construction. If no alley access is available and/or you have special access requirements (such as DATS or a temporary access ramp to the front of your home), please contact the Construction Project Manager, Clinton Mah, 780-496-4055, to coordinate.
Construction in Beverly Heights began in May 2024 and is expected to complete in October 2026. Renewal in Beverly Heights is progressing on time and on budget.
Garbage and Recycle Collection
While your alley is closed for construction, waste cart collection will occur from your front street or avenue. Residents are asked to temporarily relocate carts and recycle bags to the front of your property during alley closures for pick-up on collection days. Carts and bags should be placed in a visible location along the curb or back of the sidewalk, at which point collection workers will manoeuvre carts so they can be emptied.
We recommend you identify your home address in the space provided on the carts to ensure your assigned carts are returned to your home after collection.
