Edmonton’s Bike Plan identifies the need to expand and improve secure bike parking so cycling is feasible and convenient for more Edmontonians.
Bike racks are located across the City to provide safe and secure parking for bicycles. Edmontonians will see more secure bike parking options as the Bike Plan is implemented.
The City installs and maintains bike parking on public property and City-owned property such as sidewalks, transit hubs, in parks and City recreation centres.

If you notice a damaged bike rack, please report it to 311.
Century Park Transit Centre has a space to store your bicycle safely. A scan card is needed to use the space which provides 24/7 access.
The new bike storage facility is a 2023 pilot project and is expected to last one year. Based on the outcome of the pilot, the City will consider expanding bike storage facilities at Century Park and/or other transit centres.
Private companies and individuals install and maintain bike parking on private land, such as parking lots, businesses, apartments and condos. Edmonton’s Zoning Bylaw outlines requirements for bike parking on private property in Edmonton.
Updates to bike parking requirements for private development, including the number, design and location of bike parking spaces required, are proposed as part of the Zoning Bylaw Renewal project.
The City is also in the process of developing complementary bike parking guidelines which will provide additional information on how to provide bike parking that is effective and functional for users. These changes help further the City’s goals of supporting active transportation and creating a city where everyone can meet their daily needs within a short walk, bike and/or roll from their home.
