Community Safety is a collaborative effort, involving Neighbourhood Empowerment, Adult Entertainment Support, Community After Incident Response, Community Outreach Transit, Transit Safety and Recreation Centres teams.
Each program implemented aims to improve the well-being and safety of Edmontonians through distinct approaches. The goal is to foster security, empowerment and support that encourages community engagement and enrichment.
Neighbourhood Empowerment Team
The Neighbourhood Empowerment Team (NET) partners with residents, communities, businesses and organizations to develop solutions that foster safe and vibrant neighbourhoods and communities.
Community After Incident Response
The Community After Incident Response (CAIR) partners with various agencies to offer support to communities affected by traumatic events like homicides, public suicides, and hate crimes.

Community Outreach Transit Team
The Community Outreach Transit Team provides compassionate assistance on transit. Transit Peace Officers and Bent Arrow outreach workers collaborate to support vulnerable Edmontonians and resolve issues faced by individuals on transit.
Transit Safety and Security
The Edmonton Transit Service Control Centre team monitors transit service continuously, ensuring your safety and well-being.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) makes communities safer by focusing on neighborhood planning, development, and maintenance.

Blueprint for Violence Prevention
The Blueprint for Violence Prevention (BVP) is Edmonton's long-term plan to reduce and stop violence before it starts. The blueprint is a collaborative plan.
This team includes 2 Municipal Enforcement Officers and 2 Community Safety Liaisons who work together with licensed body rub centres, focusing on:
- Harm reduction and personal safety
- Compliance for licensing
- Education and awareness programs
- Relationship building
- Information sharing with other licensing associations and municipalities
