Community safety in Edmonton is a shared effort that brings residents, community organizations, enforcement partners and City teams together to create safer, more welcoming spaces for everyone.

The City supports this work through an integrated approach that connects programs and services across departments and partners, so communities can prevent harm, respond to incidents and strengthen community well-being.

Neighbourhood Empowerment Team

The Neighbourhood Empowerment Team (NET) partners with residents, communities, businesses and organizations to develop solutions that foster safe and vibrant neighbourhoods and communities.

CAIR partners with various agencies to offer support to communities affected by traumatic events like homicides, public suicides and hate crimes.

The Blueprint for Violence Prevention (BVP) is Edmonton's long-term plan to reduce and stop violence before it starts. The blueprint is a collaborative plan.

Community Outreach Transit Team

The Community Outreach Transit Team provides compassionate assistance within the transit system. Transit Peace Officers and Bent Arrow outreach workers collaborate to support vulnerable Edmontonians facing homelessness, mental health challenges and substance use issues.
