Neighbourhood Empowerment Team (NET) is a partnership between City of Edmonton, Edmonton Police Service and The Family Centre.
City of Edmonton Community Safety Liaisons (CSL) and a Youth Community Safety Consultant (YCSC) work with police, enforcement and community partners to help create a safer more vibrant Edmonton.
We respond to repeated incidents that may impact the security and safety of people across the city. The goal is to reduce crime, victimization and social disorder in Edmonton.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Self Assessment
This questionnaire explains CPTED and asks questions to check how safe a property is. After completing it, respondents get tips on how to make their home, apartment, or business safer. The assessment is for people living in houses or apartments, as well as for businesses, work places and industrial areas
How We Work
We work with community partners, businesses, residents, police and communities to create strategies and safety projects that contribute to safer and more vibrant neighbourhoods and communities.
We use data, research and community knowledge to:
- Develop strategies that reduce crime and disorder in neighbourhoods, business areas and public spaces
- Use Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to make public spaces safer and more welcoming
- Provide valuable information, resources and connections that enhance safety
- Work collaboratively with community groups, organizations, and businesses by providing safety information through presentations and attending events
