Pre-Submission Process
In 2018, the City of Edmonton and the Government of Alberta started work on a neighbourhood plan for a Heritage Valley Neighbourhood #14. The neighbourhood plan will inform the development of a new hospital and health campus, announced by the Government of Alberta in March 2017, and identify the alignment of the Capital Line South LRT extension and station location within the neighbourhood.
The time frame for hospital construction is dependent on provincial funding.
Public Engagement
Before submitting the application, a drop-in public engagement session, which drew 83 attendees, was held on November 28, 2018 at the Ellerslie Rugby Park.
An online survey was conducted to seek public feedback on the healthy community vision for the neighbourhood plan. The survey was available on the City’s website and sent to interested Insight Community members. It was open from November 28 to December 16, 2018. There were 399 responses.
The Pre-submission What We Heard Report summarizes participants feedback and outlines how this feedback will be incorporated into the draft neighbourhood plan.
