Mount Pleasant Cemetery sits on one of the highest land points in Edmonton.

Starting September 20, in compliance with the newly announced Government of Alberta health protocols and restrictions, indoor interment services at Mount Pleasant cemetery's indoor niche and Edmonton Cemetery's mausoleum will be restricted to a maximum of 10 visitors.

Masks and physical distancing are required at all indoor facilities. Hand hygiene continues to be recommended. For more details, visit edmonton.ca/covid19.

Originally a look-out for indigenous people, this hill-top graveyard commands a view of both the south-side and downtown.

Burials at the cemetery began well before the 20th century making Mount Pleasant a truly historical cemetery. Many prominent members of the community are interred here and their markers help tell the story of Strathcona’s roots and reflect the turn of the century boom town.
