Project Update - April 2024
It’s the first year of Strathearn Alley Renewal and we are scheduled to start in May 2024. Work will consist of removing the existing road structure, placing a new gravel base, conducting minor concrete replacement and installing new asphalt pavement.
This year, Alley Renewal construction will take place in various sections of Strathearn due to required utility coordination. To help prepare for the upcoming work in your neighbourhood:

Please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information regarding construction timelines for your alley along with contractor contact information. Alley construction in Strathearn is starting in spring 2024 and is expected to take two years to complete (the planned completion is fall 2025). Alley Renewal in Strathearn is progressing on time and on budget.
Garbage and Recycle Collection
While your alley is closed for construction, waste cart collection will occur from your front street or avenue. Residents are asked to temporarily relocate carts and recycle bags to the front of your property during alley closures for pick-up on collection days. Carts and bags should be placed in a visible location along the curb or back of the sidewalk, at which point collection workers will manoeuver carts so they can be emptied.
We recommend you identify your home address in the space provided on the carts to ensure your assigned carts are returned to your home after collection.
