Lot Grading Inspection fees, as set out in Section 23 of Drainage Bylaw 18093, are collected by the Development Services section at the City of Edmonton when you apply for the Development and Building Permit. The fee covers the cost of the Lot Grading Plan review and the first two Final Grade inspections. If a re-inspection is required, fees must be paid in advance by the Applicant or Owner.

The following fees are listed by premises type:

  • Multi-family residential: $240, plus $60 per dwelling unit on the first level containing a dwelling unit, effective January 1, 2021
  • Any other premises type: $240 per hectare, subject to a minimum of $240, effective January 1, 2021
  • Re-inspection Fee: $160, effective April 1, 2020

The 2021 Fees Listing, effective January 1, 2021, provides complete information about inspection fees. Payments are accepted at the Edmonton Service Centre.
