Free admission day is back! On September 24, enjoy a full day of free fun at participating City of Edmonton recreation centres and attractions, including the Edmonton Valley Zoo!

At the Zoo, we are celebrating Red-Pandamonium because we love them so! Other activities include live music, games, animal encounters, a Red Panda Craft and lots more!

Get Closer...Be not afraid this Halloween! Wear your coolest costume, bring your reusable trick-or-treat bags, and "get closer" to the spooky wonders of the animal kingdom. Hands-on experiments, crafts, an extinct animal graveyard, and a witch's den are just some of the fun activities that will make this Halloween one to remember!

Halloween Paint Night PhotoHalloween Paint Night!

Find Halloween-themed inspiration through the animals around you while you cast a creative spell through a paint brush! Guided by an instructor, enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers as you create your own animal-themed acrylic painting to take home with you.  And of course, “Get Closer” to some of our spook-tacular creatures!

Caribou are iconic Canadian animals, but are at risk from human landuse throughout the country. Enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers as you join Dr. Stan Boutin from the University of Alberta and learn about the latest research into how best to preserve Alberta's caribou in these challenging times.

A Christmas celebration just for seniors - the perfect way to relax on a cold December day! Guests can enjoy special performances by children from a local school as well as engage in amazing educational animal encounters and talks. To wrap up a perfect afternoon, guests will enjoy complimentary candy cane tea, hot chocolate and festive baked goodies. Get into the holiday spirit at the Edmonton Valley Zoo! Please note that there are no refunds for withdrawing from the tea within 7 days of the event (including withdrawing due to weather).
