Come and be a part of all the exciting activities taking place throughout the year at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Learn about the animals in their habitats while you play and have fun!
Date: Thursday, May 7, 2026
Time: 5-7pm, talk starts at 5:30pm
Cost: Free!
Learn how to transform your backyard into a thriving ecosystem this spring! Join us May 7 for an inspiring evening dedicated to the beauty and importance of Edmonton’s local flora.
Our urban landscapes hold the key to supporting local wildlife and restoring our natural heritage. This event will “Spill the Beans” on the world of gardening with native plants. Following the talk, there will be a panel discussion with local native plant experts who can answer your native plant gardening questions!
Hosted in the Wild Neighbors Cafe in the Zoo’s public plaza, admission to the zoo is not required for this event. Seating is limited in the cafe, but we will work to reserve a chair for you if you RSVP for the event.
Bonus: Stick around after the panel discussion for a small Native Plant Seedling Sale! Take home the perfect plants to start your biodiversity journey this year.
