The City of Edmonton is supporting Hope Mission in creating a temporary shelter at Commonwealth Stadium. For details on the shelter, the services it provides and how to access it, please visit Edmonton.ca/homelessness.

Located just outside the downtown core and accessible by LRT, Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre is ready to welcome and amaze you!

Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre is comfortable, clean, and friendly, creates a sense of belonging, and is full of fun! Come here to learn, exercise, relax, and enjoy.

Its meeting and reception rooms also provide some of the most stunning views in the city, offering bright, panoramic vistas with an abundance of natural light, smart boards, and other amenities.

All City recreation facilities remain closed to general public use at this time.

The City has begun implementing a stepped approach to reactivating indoor training and sport support, starting with accommodating school groups, sport organizations, and children’s sport and performance activities with existing bookings to use City facilities.

Seven arenas (Terwillegar, Callingwood, Castle Downs, The Meadows, Clareview, Mill Woods and Kinsmen Twin Arena), one aquatic centre (Kinsmen) and two dryland based fitness and sport facilities (Kinsmen Sports Centre and Fieldhouse and St. Francis Xavier) are currently available to organizations and schools with all 22 arenas opening beginning February 22.

City staff will work directly with representatives of these organizations to coordinate and confirm bookings. Bookings cannot be made through 311 or online at this time.

While recreation facilities will not open for general individual use in Step 1, planning for additional opportunities continues as set out in the Government of Alberta’s Path Forward plan.

All virtual programming continues at this time. To register for virtual programs, visit MoveLearnPlay.edmonton.ca.
