Parent and Tot/Child Open Gym

All ages & abilities
A fun drop in opportunity for families with children 12 and under to participate in sports such as basketball, floor hockey, badminton and many other fun games and activities. Equipment offered is designed specifically for preschool and school aged children and is open to all levels and abilities.

Children must be actively supervised by a responsible person aged 16 years or older with a maximum of 3 children per person.

Golfing

The locations of all 3 City owned and operated courses are superb. Nestled in the River Valley with breathtaking views, you’re sure to enjoy a relaxing experience.

If you need to brush up on your skills, there are lessons available. At the Pro Shops you'll find everything you need to enjoy your time on the course from designer golf attire, to golf balls, equipment and friendly advice.

Free Drop-in Public Skating opportunities are available year-round for members and non-members of our facilities. Staff and skate assistants are on site during all public skating times. Helmets are not required, but are highly recommended.

Opportunities for drop-in play scheduled at various locations and on various days. Membership or drop-in fees apply.

Child/Youth Shinny

Aquamat Fit

16+ years
In Aquamat Fit, you will benefit from a variety of training styles and exercises borrowed from various disciplines including yoga, strength training, pilates, cross-training and stretching. This class takes place on an aquamat tethered or free floating in the water. Come join us for an hour long class, led by an Instructor, where you are challenged to increase your core strength, cardiovascular endurance and overall body strength with fun guaranteed! Participants need to be comfortable getting wet and swimming in deep water. Prefered attire suitable for this class is form-fitting, comfortable, athletic wear that can get wet and is not baggy.

Newcomer Swimming Pool Introduction

Are you new to Canada? Are you unfamiliar with what the City of Edmonton has to offer for swimming pools and lessons? Swimming can be a fun, healthy, family or solo activity and the City offers many different swimming activities suitable for all ages! Come join us for a 2 hour session where you can learn about affordable classes, be introduced to the pool area, pool rules, what to wear to a pool and get a taste of what types of lessons we offer within the City of Edmonton. This session will include an in-water swimming session at the end so please bring clean bathing attire. Children under 8 must be with a caregiver 15 years or older with no more than 3 children under 8 per 1 caregiver.

Interested in finding out more about urban nature in the River Valley? Lace up your favourite pair of shoes and take your friends or family out for a hike. With a variety of trails to explore, the River Valley is teeming with nature. Disc Golf

Whether you are new to the sport of disc golf or a well-seasoned Frisbee® thrower, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to try this interesting sport. Similar to golf, participants use a disc instead of a ball, aiming for “holes” around the course. This activity is great fun for the whole family and only requires a disc for each person playing.

The River Valley boasts over 165 km of trails that are waiting for you to use them! One of the most scenic ways to experience the trails is by walking, jogging or running. You’ll have a chance to hear the wildlife and take in the natural scenery as you make your way along the pathways. Whether you’re training for a marathon or out for a stroll with your sweetheart, the variety of trails in the River Valley offers something for everyone.
