EPark users have several options to pay for their parking.

  • Pay at the machine using coin or credit card
  • Set up an account and use your cell phone (text/mobile)
  • Pay online using the Virtual Pay Machine using credit card
  • Install the MyEPark Parking App
Pay using MyEPark App

Save time and money by downloading this free app. Pay for on-street parking or in any  City EPark facility with an EPark account. The EPark Account Management application allows you to pay for your parking sessions, add money to your account and see your account balance.

You will require an EPark account in order to use this application and can register for one using this app.

Features include:

  • Start or stop parking sessions in EPark zones; no cards or coins required!
  • Only pay for the time you actually parked by deactivating your session
  • Manage phone numbers associated with your EPark account
  • Manage licence plates associated with your EPark account
  • View your EPark account balance in real time
  • Add funds to your EPark account (minimum $25)
  • Manage your low balance notification
  • Retrieve account activity reports that have a detailed account of all your monthly parking transactions
  • Park a Friend - use your cell phone account funds to park any plate
  • Online Activations feature - cell phone account holders can set up parking sessions for dates and times in the future

Pay at Machine

These instructions are also provided on the pay machines.

When parking your vehicle, note the parking zone number located on signs lining the street adjacent to where you have parked.

As you leave your vehicle, look for one of the conveniently located EPark pay machines. You can use any pay machine to pay for parking.

  • Confirm the four digit zone number for the area in which you are parked. The zone number is located on top of the street signs. The zone number will be posted at every pay machine, along with the instructions on how to use the machine.
  • Enter your license plate information.
  • Make payment by either inserting coins ($2, $1, $0.25)** until “paid to time” is adequate or, inserting a credit card (VISA, MasterCard or AMEX) as shown on the front of the pay machine. Remove credit card when requested and select the appropriate time required by pressing the + (add) or “Max Time” buttons.
  • Press button for optional receipt, a receipt is not required for the dash.

**Please note the pay machines do not provide change.

EPark Starting and Ending Parking Sessions

How EPark cell phone accounts work.

With an EPark cell phone account, you can pay for your on-street parking in any EPark zone or for off-street parking in a City facility. To use the cell phone method of payment, you must first sign up for an account at epark.parkplus.ca. Once you have created an EPark account there are three ways you can use your cell phone account:

  1. Call 587-400-PARK (7275)
    Follow the voice prompts to start a parking session. Call the same number back to end the session to have your account credited back for the unused time!* You can activate a parking session by calling (587) 400-PARK (7275) and following the voice prompts to start a parking session. Call the same number back to deactivate the session to have your account credited back for the unused time! *

  2. Text 587-400-PARK (7275)
    Use Text to Park, to start and end a parking session, text “start” or “end” and then the parking zone number you’ve parked in to 587-400-PARK (7275). For example, if you parked in zone 1234:

    To start a parking session: text “START 1234” to 587-400-PARK (7275)

    To end the parking session: text “END 1234” ” to 587-400-PARK (7275)

    When you stop a parking session via text, you will have your account credited back for the unused time*.

  3. Mobile Site - m-epark.parkplus.ca
    Visit m-epark.parkplus.ca to login or create an account to pay using your account funds. When you stop a parking session via the mobile option, you will have your account credited back for the unused time*.

  4. App
    The new MyEPark app for iOS and Android users is now available through the iTunes Store and Google Play.
*Please note:
  • The MyParkingEDM app​ no longer functions as it was for the EPark trial phase only.
  • there is a $1 minimum purchase for on-street parking when using a cell phone account. The minimum fee in a surface lot or parkade will vary depending on the minimum purchase for the facility. The minimum fee is applied to the cost of your parking and does not constitute an additional charge. For example, if you park on-street for approximately 17 minutes or more on a weekday the $1 will be absorbed into the cost of your parking.
  • the phone number that is used to activate the parking session must be used to deactivate the parking session, no matter what method of activation or deactivation is used.
Pay using Virtual Pay Machine

The Virtual Pay Machine (VPM) is for customers on the go - both visitors and Edmontonians.

VPM is a free service that allows anyone to securely pay for parking on-street or in any EPark zone with their cell phone and credit card; no ParkPlus cell phone account is needed.

VPM allows you to park smart - all you need are these two things:

  1. A smartphone to scan the QR code (with a QR code reader) or enter in v-epark.parkplus.ca; and
  2. A credit card (note that payment cannot be made with "Virtual VISA" or other prepaid cards)
How to use VPM:

Once you have scanned the QR code or entered v-epark.parkplus.ca into your browser, simply enter the zone number you're parked in and your licence plate information. Then, select the amount of time that you would like to park from the dropdown menu.

With EPark, you never need to place a receipt on your dash; however, if you would like a copy of the receipt for your records, enter your email address and it will be sent to your inbox.

The next step is for you to review your session details; if everything looks correct then you will proceed to payment or press 'back' to make any changes.

After you press ‘Proceed to Payment’, you will be redirected to a secure site to enter your credit card information. Once you have completed that step, you have finished!

Detailed Account Activity of Parking Transactions

Receive a detailed report of all your monthly parking transactions! Your account will have the current month and the previous 3 months available to you online. Perfect for managing your work expenses!

We've made some upgrades to the Account Activity reports including:

  • Adding a “Parking Cost” column that provides a total of how much you've spent on parking
  • Adding the zone location in the “Description” column so that you know where you were parked
PARKSmall & Save Big

Small vehicles can save 25% on short-term, on-street parking!

Small vehicles (3.8m in length or less) can receive a discount in most on-street EPark parking zones.*

Simply apply for your PARKsmall Discount when you sign up for your new EPark cell phone account or edit your existing account. Once your application is validated you will automatically receive a 25% discount on all EPark parking sessions.

To qualify for the PARKsmall discount, only one vehicle of 380cm or less may be listed in your cell phone account at one time. If you add a second vehicle to your account, the discount option cannot be selected and will not apply.

*Please note:

  1. The PARKsmall discount is only available for on-street parking zones. It is not offered in surface lots or parkades. In addition, the discount is not available in all-day, on-street motorcycle/scooter parking zones.
Park a Friend

Use your cell phone account funds to park any plate, even if it might not be registered in your account or if it is registered to someone else’s account.  

Using ‘Park a Friend’, you can now start a parking session for any licence plate that you would like, even if it is not on your account, and it doesn’t matter if the plate is attached to another account.

Possible uses for this feature include rental cars or company cars.

To use this feature, log in to the MyEPark app and follow a few simple steps:

  1. Click on More Options
  2. Click on Park a Friend
  3. Enter the zone number and licence plate that you would like to start a parking session for
  4. Select the end time for the session
  5. Press Start and click OK to confirm

You can also log in to your account and follow these steps to start a session for a friend using a desktop computer or mobile device.

If the session is stopped, you will only be charged for the time that you were parked.

Online Activation

Using the Online Activations feature, cell phone account holders can set up parking sessions for dates and times in the future*, making this feature particularly useful for businesses wishing to pay for their customers' parking.

EPark cell phone account holders can also start a parking session online.

How it Works

To set-up an Online Activation, log-in to your EPark account and click the More Options tab at the top of the page.

  1. Click the Online Activation button.
  2. Click on the date that you wish to schedule an activation for in the calendar, and then select Add New Event.
  3. Enter the event name, select the start and end time, and then click Next.
  4. Enter the licence plate information and zone number for any parking session(s) you wish to activate. Click Add Vehicle. Once the parking session has ended, the parking cost will be deducted.
  5. Click Save Event to schedule the Online Activation. Click Close to exit without saving.

If the session is stopped, you will only be charged for the time that you were parked**.

Note:  When a parking session is started using the Online Activation system, it must be deactivated using the Online Activation system as well.

*Please note that parking availability is on a first-come, first-served basis and space is not guaranteed. No refunds will be issued if a session is activated and the space is not used or if an alternative location is used. Payments can be back-dated a maximum of 2 hours, in 15 minute increments.

**A minimum purchase still applies to all online activation parking sessions. This minimum purchase amount will vary depending on the zone number for which the session was activated.
