EPark has several convenient ways to pay for parking with or without an account.

EPark has many ways to pay for parking. If you don't already have an account set up and need to park and pay quickly, you can pay at the machine or by using the Virtual Pay Machine. If you have an EPark account, you can use the account by downloading the MyEpark App or by texting or making a phone call to start and end your session. Rates, hours and locations vary depending on where you park.

Pay Without An Account

EPark Machine

These instructions are also provided on the pay machines.

  1. Remember your licence plate  number
  2. Check the signs posted in the area you’re parked for the four-digit zone number
  3. Find closest EPark pay machine
  4. Ensure the four-digit zone number in your payment session matches the zone number that you are parked in
  5. Enter your licence plate number
  6. Pay by $2, $1 or $0.25 coins or by credit card - machine doesn’t provide change
  7. Select the time needed by using the + button or selecting Max Time 
  8. Press the green checkmark if you want a receipt

A receipt isn’t required for your dash and your licence plate will be automatically registered in the system. If you need to add additional time to your parking session, you can use any machine, even if it’s not the same one you initially used - just remember to add in the correct parking zone number and your licence plate.

To Make a Correction

Select the red X button to correct information entered within 30 seconds, including license plate, parking zone number or amount paid.

Virtual Pay Machine

The Virtual Pay Machine allows anyone to securely pay for parking in any EPark zone with their smartphone and credit card; no account is needed. Payment can’t be made with prepaid cards.

How to Pay
  1. Enter the four-digit parking zone number that you're parked in and enter your licence plate
  2. Select the amount of time you need from the drop-down menu
  3. Enter your email if you want a receipt (optional)
  4. Review your parking session details, select Back to make changes
  5. Select Proceed to Payment when you're ready
  6. Enter your credit card information to complete payment
  7. A receipt is never required for your dash; your license plate is automatically entered into the system

Download the free app on Google Play or iTunes.

You will need an EPark account for everything except Quick Pay. You can sign up for an account through the app or online​.

Detailed Account Activity of Parking Transactions

Receive a detailed report of all your monthly parking transactions. Your account will have the current month and the previous five months available to you online. Perfect for managing your work expenses.

Text or Call

Setup an account through the MyEPark app or online.

Once your account is set up, you can pay for on-street or parkade parking in EPark zones.

You must use the same phone number to activate and deactivate a session. A $0.25 minimum is charged for on-street parking and will depend on the surface lot or parkade. EPark parkades have a maximum time limit of 48 hours.

Park a Friend

This feature allows you to start a parking session for any licence plate that’s not already on your account, whether it’s a rental car, company vehicle or a licence plate from another account. It allows you to specify the amount of time and funds.

  1. Login to your account through the MyEpark app or online
  2. Select More Options
  3. Select Park a Friend
  4. Enter the four-digit parking zone number and licence plate to start a parking session
  5. Select the end time for the session
  6. Select Start and OK to confirm
  7. Your account will be credited back for any unused time
Setup Future Parking Sessions

Using the Online Activations feature, account holders can book future dates and times for parking (parking is not reserved).

Set Up a Future Parking Session
  1. Login to your EPark account
  2. Select More Options tab at the top of the page
  3. Select Online Activation
  4. Select the date to schedule an activation
  5. Select Add New Event
  6. Enter the event name
  7. Select the start and end time and select Next
  8. Enter the licence plate and four-digit parking zone number
  9. Select Add Vehicle
  10. Select Save Event to schedule or Close to exit without saving

Your parking session will start automatically according to the start time you chose. Remember to use Online Activation to end a parking session. When you stop a session, you only pay for the time you were parked.

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and space is not guaranteed. There are no refunds for sessions that have started but are not used or if another location is used. Payments can be backdated to a maximum of 2 hours, in 15 minute increments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get a receipt?
  • Remember - A parking receipt is never required to be displayed on your dashboard
  • If you’re using your EPark account, a receipt is automatically emailed to the registered email address on the account
  • If you’re paying at an EPark machine, you can request a printed receipt at the end of the transaction
  • If you’re using the Virtual Pay Machine, you can enter your email address to receive a receipt
What do I do if the pay machine is out of order?

Check for other pay machines that may be nearby. You can use any pay machine to make a payment, just make sure that you type in the correct zone number from the area that you’re parked in. The zone number is located on EPark machines and signs posted on the street and in the parkades.

How do I add time to an existing parking session?
  • Use the same method of payment as your original transaction - otherwise, you won’t be able to top up on an existing session
  • If you paid at a pay machine, you’d need to use an EPark machine to add time to your session
  • If you used your credit card, you’d have the option to use an EPark machine or the Virtual Pay Machine to top up
  • Any added time will restart from that moment and not add to the funds already applied
  • Alternatively, you can wait for your session to end and start a new session with any method
  • As per City bylaws, vehicles may not be parked for longer than the maximum time posted on the sign
When do I need to add more funds to my account and how?

You can't activate a parking session if your account balance is too low. 

Setup Low Balance Notification
  • Login to your account through the MyEpark app or online
  • Enable the Low Balance notification in account settings
  • Set notification amount at $10, $20, $50 or $100
  • You'll be notified by email when balance is low

  • Login to your account through the MyEpark app or online
  • Select Payment
  • Fill in required fields
How does the system know which vehicle I've parked?

You do not need to designate which vehicle you're using when you activate a parking session using your cell phone account as long as you have an active parking session for one of the vehicles listed in the account.

The only requirement is that you have enough active parking sessions for the number of vehicles parked in an EPark parking zone.

For example, if you have two vehicles parked in EPark zones, you must activate two distinct parking sessions. (You must activate each parking session from a separate cell phone number.)

Can I use more than one phone to activate/deactivate a parking session?

No. Your account is linked to your phone number. You must use the same phone number to activate and deactivate a single parking session.

How do I find my account balance?
  • Login to your account through the MyEpark app or online
  • Balance is listed next to Prepay Service
How do I make changes to my account?
  • Login to your account through the MyEpark app or online
  • Select Edit My Account
  • Update licence plate, phone number or email
How do I view my parking transactions?
  • Login to your account through the MyEpark app or online
  • Select Account Activity
  • View all your parking transactions as far back as six months
  • If you need access to parking transactions that are older, email 311@edmonton.ca
Does EPark remember my credit card information?

No, EPark does not save credit card information or automatically charge it for each transaction.

  • This keeps costs down and avoids transaction fees
  • You will need to enter your credit card information each time you top up your account
  • Top up amounts are set at $25, $50, $100, $200, $500 or $1000
Why is EPark not recognising my phone number?

Your phone number may be blocked from being displayed.

Unblock your phone number:

  • For Telus or Bell Mobility customers, dial *31# OR *82 and enter 587-400-PARK (7275) 
  • For other providers, contact them to find out how to unblock
