Spring Service Changes

ETS adjusts service five times a year based on rider feedback and seasonal changes in riders, such as reflecting the school year cycle. Starting April 24, various bus routes will have some service changes to reflect typical spring ridership patterns. This includes the cancellation of post-secondary school service until the start of the fall 2022 term.

Service Change Details

The following routes will experience schedule/frequency changes:

Routes 1-100: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56
Routes 101-199: 101, 108, 110, 116, 117, 118, 120X, 130X, 150X
Routes 500-599: 500X, 506, 508, 510X, 512, 515, 516, 518, 519, 560, 580

Routes 700-799: 700X, 701, 702, 703, 706, 707, 716, 718, 719, 721, 722, 723
Routes 900-999: 900X, 902, 903, 904, 906, 907, 910X, 913, 914, 915, 916, 917, 918, 920X, 923, 925

Changes include:

Schedule adjustments to bus routes 2 and 101 to allow for better connections between these routes at Stadium Transit Centre in both directions
Schedule adjustments to bus routes 4 and 8 to allow for better connections between these routes on Whyte Avenue in both directions
Route 4: Short trips between Bonnie Doon and University Transit Centre will be cancelled until September 2022
Route 118: Bus stop added at 92 Street/163 Avenue for buses travelling from Eaux Claires Transit Centre to West Clareview Transit Centre
Route 622: Route cancelled until Fall 2022 term starts.
Route 700X: Two bus stops added:
- Bus Stop #9444 (111 Street and Ellerslie Road SW)
- Bus Stop #9038 (115 Street and Ellerslie Road SW)
Route 903: Schedule adjustments trips to allow for better connections with Route 701 at Kingsway Transit Centre

Starting May 21, Route 994 will be providing weekend service between Edmonton Valley Zoo and West Edmonton Mall Transit Centre (Bus Stop #5216 (Bay C)). From the Canada Day weekend until the Labour Day weekend, this route will run every day.

On Demand Transit update

In April 2022, On Demand Transit will be expanded to connect riders from one of 49 neighbourhoods to 11 transit hubs where you can transfer to the regular Edmonton Transit bus network or LRT.

Starting April 24, 2022, On Demand Transit is adding service to the following neighbourhoods: Uplands, Stillwater, Glenridding Ravine, Balwin, as well as portions of Albany, Canossa, Rapperswill, Chambery, Elsinore, Klarvatten and Kinglet Gardens.

Also starting April 24, On Demand Transit stops will be added in Cavanagh and Henderson Estates, and riders from Montrose will be able to travel to/from Belvedere Transit Centre using On Demand Transit.

Holiday Service Changes

On May 2, 20, 24 and 25, buses will run regular weekday service, with no public school special routes or trips.

On Victoria Day (May 23), buses run regular Sunday service, with no route 589 service (Edmonton Waste Management Centre).

Note: From May 21-23, Capital/Metro Line trains will run every 20 minutes, with Metro Line trains only running between NAIT and Central. These changes will help crews safely complete track/electrical work at Government Centre Station and track work north of Churchill Station.

On June 29, buses run regular weekday service, with no public school special routes/trips.

On June 30, buses run regular weekday service, with no school special routes/trips

On Canada Day, buses run regular Sunday service with extra evening service. Capital/Metro Line trains run on Saturday schedules.

The following routes, as well as the Capital Line LRT, will have extended service until approximately 1am on July 2:
- Routes 1A, 1B, 3, 5, 6, 7, 52, 55, 56, 101, 103, 106, 108, 113, 119, 121, 506, 507, 509A, 509B, 512, 515, 516, 518, 519, 523, 701, 705, 706, 707, 708, 709, 713, 715, 716, 721, 722, 901, 903, 904, 909, 915, 916, 917, 918A, 918B and 921
There is no change to Late Night Owl service (routes 2-OWL, 4, 8, 9-OWL, 512) on Canada Day.
