Project Overview
The Lewis Farms Facility and Park Project, located at 22103 92 Avenue NW, is progressing. The project team has adjusted the project scope to focus on community programming needs.
The facility has been designed to accommodate the following amenities:
Aquatic facility:
50-metre lane pool with diving platforms (3 and 5 metre height)
Hot tub
Leisure pool
Steam room
Waterslide
Twin arena
Multi-purpose, studio spaces and indoor playground space
Fitness centre and running/walking track
Double gymnasium and a separate half gymnasium
Medium-sized Edmonton Public Library branch
Commercial retail unit spaces and a daycare space
A base-level district park will be included with supporting infrastructure that allows for development of additional park amenities in the future.
Public and interested party feedback was gathered on the concept and design, and showed support for the multi-purpose facility and park. Extensive public engagement was completed from 2015 to 2018. The data collected during engagement continues to guide adaptations in the facility design. A summary of the public and interested party engagement is in the What We Heard report.
On May 1, 2026, the City of Edmonton announced mistahaya wîkihk (pronounced mist-ah-hi-ya wee-gik) Community Recreation Centre as the official name of this facility. This Cree name translates to "The Big One's at his home/Grizzly Bear's Home."
