Application Process

Step 1: Complete the webform below and click submit.

Step 2: Download, print, and ask your health care provider to sign the authorized health care provider form. Keep the completed form until you are contacted by Waste Services on next steps.

Step 3: As part of the review process, City of Edmonton will schedule and conduct an at-home interview. At this stage, Waste Services will direct applicants to submit their completed authorized health care provider form. The form can be submitted electronically, or in-person during the at-home interview.

Step 4: Applicants will be notified of their approval status, and approved applicants will receive Assisted Waste Collection service.

  • Participation in the Assisted Waste Collection service is only for residents who are unable to move waste material to the curb or back alley for collection due to a medical condition and where no other person resides at the address who is capable of placing waste materials at the curb or back alley.
  • Waste Services must approve the assisted waste collection location and the resident must comply.
  • Participants must notify the City of Edmonton at 780-496-5698 or wastesupport@edmonton.ca if they no longer need Assisted Waste Collection service.
  • Participation in the Assisted Waste Collection service is subject to an annual review.
  • The service may be terminated if the conditions met when the application was approved no longer apply.
