Clients that currently set out their waste in bags at the curb will not receive carts as part of the Edmonton Cart Rollout. Please refer to the letter you receive in the mail for the service expiry date.
As part of the 25-year Waste Strategy, the the City of Edmonton started winding down its commercial collection services as of October 1, 2019. The City is no longer accepting new Commercial Collection clients.
Waste Services will work with existing clients to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible. The City will continue to meet ongoing obligations under existing contracts.
City-owned sites will continue to receive collection services from City of Edmonton Waste Services.
Please note that the Edmonton Waste Management Centre will continue to accept waste and recycling from other haulers.
What Can Current Clients Expect?
If you are a commercial client and presently set out your waste in bags at the curb or back alley (Commercial Hand Collection) or in a communal bin (Commercial Bin Collection), changes are coming to the way you sort and set out your waste.
A letter was sent to all commercial clients stating that the commercial services will no longer be provided by the City and included resources to help clients solicit service quotes from new providers.
After receiving this letter, Commercial Bin collection clients can contact Commercial Waste Services at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a preferred service cessation date to help ensure the transition to their new service provider is smooth and convenient.
