Reading Week LRT Service Adjustments

From February 18-21, ETS is planning LRT service adjustments that will allow for more frequent trains in downtown and northeast Edmonton, trains with increased occupancy in south Edmonton and a more balanced passenger flow.

On these dates, Capital Line trains will run every five minutes during peak hours (approximately 6-9am and 3-6pm). During off-peak hours, Capital Line trains will run every ten minutes, instead of every 15 minutes (unless otherwise noted).

Metro Line trains will continue to operate at a 15 minute frequency, but will only travel between Health Sciences/Jubilee and NAIT stations all day. This means that to travel south of Health Sciences/Jubilee, Metro Line customers must transfer to a Capital Line train between Churchill and Health Sciences/Jubilee stations.

Peak Hour Service

  • Century Park to Health Sciences:
Capital Line (four-car) trains run every five minutes. There will be no Metro Line (three-car) trains running between these stations
  • Health Sciences/Jubilee to Churchill:
Capital Line (four-car) trains run every five minutes, with an additional Metro Line (three-car) train between two of the Capital Line trains. That means there are four trains every 15 minutes, instead of three
  • Churchill to NAIT:
No changes. Metro Line continues to run every 15 minutes between these stations
  • Churchill to Clareview:
Capital Line trains run every five minutes. As the Metro Line train is integrated into the Capital Line, these adjustments eliminate the 10 minute gap between trains in the northeast

Service Alerts

LRT Notifications

  • LRT Night Time Schedule Changes
To help accommodate upgrades at Corona and Bay stations, there will be some night time LRT service changes from February 23-27, March 1-5 and March 8-12.

From 9pm until the end of service each night, Capital Line and Metro Line trains run every 20 minutes. Metro Line trains will only run between NAIT and Churchill. Please plan ahead using the Trip Planner at or use  real-time tools.

  • LRT Schedule Changes - February 9
To help accommodate maintenance work between University and Grandin/Government Centre stations, there will be some LRT service changes on Sunday February 9.

From 5am-3pm, Capital/Metro trains run every 20 minutes. Metro trains run only between NAIT and Grandin. Please plan ahead using the Trip Planner at or use real-time tools.

  • Corona Station Entrances Closed
The 107 Street South and 108 Street South entrances at Corona Station are closed to complete heat trace replacement. Please use the 107 Street North or the Jasper Avenue North entrances to access/exit the station.

From February 16-23,  elevator access at the 107 Street South entrance will be maintained daily from 7am-9:30pm. If you need mobility assistance outside of those hours, please use Grandin or Bay station. After February 23, elevator access will be maintained at all times.

  • LRT Arrival Signs
The City of Edmonton continues to work with the contractor to fix the arrival signs and announcements.

Current elevator and escalator outages and scheduled maintenance in Edmonton Transit LRT Stations.
When the LRT is experiencing difficulties due to unforseen circumstances and may be unable to provide service to every stop, ETS provides replacement service with buses to ensure that customers are still able to reach their destination.
