Five times each year, ETS reviews rider feedback, schedules, service levels and routes to ensure we’re providing the right amount of service at the right time. These adjustments start June 21. Please plan ahead and double-check your routes and schedules.

On July 4 from 8am - 4pm, and July 5 all day, Metro Line trains only run between NAIT/Blatchford Market and Government Centre stations. This change is to accommodate track work near University Station.
To access stations south of Government Centre, Metro Line riders can transfer to a Capital Line train at Churchill, Bay/Enterprise Square, Corona or Government Centre stations.
From July 11 to July 12, Capital Line trains will not be running between Churchill and Clareview stations while a new track crossover south of 115 Avenue is installed.
LRT replacement buses will run between Churchill and Clareview stations for the entire duration of LRT service on July 11 and 12.
Riders may notice minor delays after 8 p.m. on July 10 and all day on July 13 as trains will be running on a single track.
Regular LRT service along the Capital Line will resume at the start of service on July 14.
Valley Line service will be changing on July 4-5 and 11-12, due to work south of Quarters Stop to help bring underground cellular service to transit.
On both weekends, from 7:30pm on Saturday until end of service on Sunday, riders will need to board a dedicated shuttle train to access stops north of Strathearn Stop (Strathearn to 102 Street stops). The shuttle train will run approximately every 30 minutes. Regular 15-minute service will run between Mill Woods and Strathearn stops during these times.

The following bus stops will be temporarily closed due to construction in the area:
Starting July 22, Bus Stop #99013 (Heritage Valley Trail and Chappelle Road southwest) will be temporarily closed until summer 2026.
This is due to work being done to widen the road on the east side of Heritage Valley Trail from 41 Avenue southwest to 141 Street southwest.
Riders can catch Route 727 at 1 of the temporary stops:
Work is underway to rehabilitate Dawson Bridge on Rowland Road in the Riverdale neighbourhood. During select weekends in May and June, the bridge will be fully closed to traffic.
During periods when Dawson Bridge is closed, Route 1A/B will be on detour via Jasper Avenue, 82 Street, 112 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive. On Demand Transit Service in Riverdale will not be impacted by this work.
A courtesy taxi service will be in place between the Riverdale On Demand Transit bus stops and the transit hubs at City Centre Mall and Churchill Square when the bridge is closed and it is outside the operating hours of On Demand Transit. Riders can book a courtesy taxi by calling Greater Edmonton Taxi Service at 780-462-3456.
Starting June 24, Route 501 will be on detour until the end of summer of 2026 due to road work on 94B Avenue between 61 Street and 68 Street. During this time, Route 501 will detour using 50 Street, 90 Avenue and 92 Avenue.

Starting April 27, Route 504 will be on detour until the end of the month due to road work at 72 Avenue NW between 71 Street and 68 Avenue. During this time, Route 504 will detour using 67 Street northbound. Work is expected to wrap up in mid-August.

This summer, Route 514 will be on detour while construction work takes place in three phases from 62 Street northwest to 54 Street.
Starting June 26, Route 514 will completely detour around Meyokumin. This detour will be in place until the end of summer.
Route 514 will head south on 66 Street, turn left onto Mill Woods Road South, where it will resume its regular routing. When heading south on 66 Street, the route will detour onto Mill Woods Road South, turn left onto 50 Street, and then left onto 23 Avenue where it will resume its original routing.

Riders can catch Route 514 at any of the following temporary stops:
Starting April 20, Routes 727 and 668 will be on detour until the end of June due to road work just east of the intersection of Heritage Valley Trail & Desrochers Boulevard. During this time, these routes will detour using 41 Avenue, between Desrochers Drive and Heritage Valley Trail.

Starting the week of September 15, work will begin to replace the Wellington Bridge on 102 Avenue between 132 Street and 130 Street in the Glenora neighbourhood. This project is expected to take approximately 16 months and will result in the full closure of 102 Avenue.
While 102 Avenue is completely closed, Route 2 will be on detour via 124 Street, 107 Avenue, and 142 Street, serving all stops along its detour route. Riders can access transit on 124 Street or 142 Street or use temporary On Demand Transit service to either of these corridors from select bus stops along 102 Avenue.
Dedicated Accessible Transit Service (DATS) clients in Glenora will still be able to access door to door service.
Renewal work on 132 Avenue continues in 2026. This year, the majority of construction will take place in two separate construction areas: from 127 Street to 121 Street (West) and from 90 Street to Delwood Road (East).
Construction on both sections is scheduled to begin the week of April 20 and run until late fall 2026.

Starting May 21, Route 512 will be on detour until early July due to road work on 28 Avenue NW between 91 Street and 92 Street. During this time, Route 512 will detour using 91 Street southbound.

Construction on Stage 3 of the Terwillegar Drive Expansion Project began in early May and is expected to take approximately two years. These improvements will support current and future traffic, transit and active transportation needs.
During construction, transit users should expect congestion and longer commute times. In recent days, the City has worked with the contractor to ensure additional measures (like longer working hours) have been taken to reduce traffic disruptions as much as possible. ETS will continue to monitor traffic flow but there will be no detours at this time.
Due to community feedback, Route 924 is currently detoured back to 165 Street until an official start date of the Glenwood Neighbourhood Renewal is announced.

Between June 29 and July 12, a portion of 106 Street between 71 Avenue and 70 Avenue will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic to accommodate underground construction.

For the entirety of service on July 11 and 12, the northbound LRT replacement bus will be on detour. This is due to special event preparation closing a section of 100 Street.
The Churchill LRT replacement bus stop for travelling to Stadium Station will be located at 100 Street and Jasper Avenue westbound (#1262). Signage will be posted at the temporary stop.
When the LRT is experiencing difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances and may be unable to provide service to every stop, ETS provides replacement service with buses to ensure riders are still able to reach their destination.
The following information is meant to assist passengers when using LRT replacement service. Replacement service often takes the same routes, but accidents, detours and other obstacles may cause the Bus Replacement Service routes to change.
When searching for the correct stop to wait at when replacement service is in place, look for the bus stop signs that list "LRT Replacement".
The buses will also say LRT Replacement Service, followed by the final destination (such as Century Park, Downtown, Clareview, NAIT).

ETS Cold Weather service comes into effect when commuters are faced with extreme winter weather. We define extreme weather conditions as -20 Celsius including windchill.
When temperatures reach -20 celsius, ETS buses no longer kneel to prevent buses from freezing in the kneeling position, thus putting the bus out of service and requiring a replacement bus.

ETS Express buses, except for routes 31, 130X, 560, 700X, 747, 900X, 920X are instructed to stop for riders at all bus stops on their routes in extreme weather conditions (colder than minus 20 degrees Celsius, including windchill).
The decision to stop at all bus stops is made by the ETS Control Centre on an ‘as required’ basis.
Please dress for the weather, as buses are part of the traffic flow and are affected by road and weather conditions too.
