Permanent Service Change for Route 71

Starting on November 7, Route 71 will travel as an express between Argyll Road and Bonnie Doon to help customers get to Government Centre Transit Centre. This includes stops at #2393 (86 Avenue and 83 Street SB), #2329 (86 Avenue and 83 Street NB), #2551 (82 Avenue and 83 Street NB) and #2255 (83 Street and 82 Avenue EB). As a result, buses will not travel on 99 Street. 

Planned LRT Maintenance - Sunday November 17 
On Sunday November 17, Capital and Metro Line trains will run every 20 minutes. Metro Line trains will only run between NAIT and Grandin. Please plan ahead and leave yourself extra travel time.

Routes 1 and 310 Detour from Bus Stop #5578

From September 16 until December 2019, bus routes 1 and 310 will temporarily detour from Bus Stop #5578 (161 Street and 87 Avenue EB) due to Valley Line West work. Please use bus stop #5405 (87 Avenue and Meadowlark Road NB).

Note: Other routes that stop at Bus Stop #5578 (Routes 2, 4, 23, 33 and 106) are not impacted. These routes will continue to stop at Bus Stop #5578.

University Fall Break Service
School specials will be cancelled on Tuesday November 12 and Wednesday November 13. Regular weekday schedules will apply during the university fall break between Tuesday November 12 and Friday November 15, aside from reduced service to the U of A and Concordia. 

Service Alerts

  • Roper Road Detour
    Starting at 9pm on Monday November 18 until 6am on Sunday November 24, bus routes 68, 72 and 370 will detour Roper Road between 50 - 75 Street. This is a night time detour from 9pm-6am only. 

  • Permanent Service Change for Express Routes on 83 Street
    Starting October 7, Routes 60, 61, 66, 68, 69 and 97 will no longer travel on 83 Street between Argyll Road and 90 Avenue. Instead, these routes will travel on 99 Street. This will include stops at #2840 (81 Avenue and 99 Street SB) and #2697 (82 Avenue and 99 Street NB).

  • Corona Station Escalators Replacement
    Both escalators on the east side of the Corona Station platform are currently undergoing complete replacement and will be out of service until spring 2020. To move between the station’s concourse and platform, please use the stairs or elevators.

  • University Transit Centre, Bus Stop #2001 closed until 2021
    Beginning May 27, bus stop #2001 will be closed at University Transit Centre for the duration of campus construction taking place near the transit centre. Passengers can use bus stop #2002 south of the transit centre to board Routes 4, 51, 54, 106 and 318. 

  • Groat Road Detour
    Starting December 2, 2018, Routes 128 and 130, as well as School Specials 725 and 757 will detour away from Groat Road until the completion of the Bridge and Road Renewal project in summer 2020. If you use these routes, please plan ahead. 

    During this time, these routes will suspend service to University Transit Centre and will be redirected to serve Government Centre Transit Centre. This route will include stops near Corona and Grandin/Government Centre LRT stations.

  • Improvement Projects
    Numerous transit projects have taken place around the city. Learn more and double check transit schedules for temporary changes during current projects

LRT Notifications

  • Corona Station 107 Street North Entrance Closure
    Starting at 9:30pm on Sunday November 17, this entrance will be closed for 9-10 weeks to complete heat trace replacement. This work will help enhance stairwell safety, as heat trace is the wiring under the station tiles that helps prevent the formation of ice on the tiles. All other station entrances remain open.

  • LRT Arrival Signs
    The City of Edmonton continues to work with the contractor to fix the arrival signs and announcements.

Current elevator and escalator outages and scheduled maintenance in Edmonton Transit LRT Stations.
When the LRT is experiencing difficulties due to unforseen circumstances and may be unable to provide service to every stop, ETS provides replacement service with buses to ensure that customers are still able to reach their destination.
