Jasper Avenue Delays

From April 13 until further notice, anticipate delays for Routes 1, 5, 14, 100 and 120 traveling on Jasper Avenue between 109-114 Street starting in spring due to Imagine Jasper Avenue construction.

  • During this time, lanes will be reduced to 1 lane in either direction and bus stops #1818 (109 Street and Jasper Avenue WB) and #1812 (111 Street and Jasper Avenue WB) will be closed

  • Please use stops #1959 (108 Street and Jasper Avenue WB) and #1840 (112 Street and Jasper Avenue WB) to board these routes

Bus stop #1840 has been relocated to be on the road but will continue to be accessible.

Route Detours

Route 305

Starting Friday, October 2, 2020, bus route 305 will be on detour due to major utility and roadway construction. Construction is expected to last until 2022. As a result, bus stops #5570 (149 St/100 Ave SB) and #5878 (Summit Village) will be closed. Please board/exit this route using bus stop #5437 (149 St/100 Ave NB).

Route 52 and 318 Detour of 104 Street Northbound

Effective at noon on Thursday April 23, bus routes 52 and 318 will detour all stops on 104 Street northbound between 76 Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive to allow for more physical distancing for pedestrians. Please board or exit Route 52 at temporary stops at 76 Avenue and 104 Street EB, and 82 Avenue and Gateway Boulevard NB. Please board or exit Route 318 at the same temporary stop at 76 Avenue and 104 Street Eastbound.  

Jasper Avenue Detours/Service Updates

On March 23, 2020 until further notice, construction for the Jasper Avenue New Vision will be taking place on Jasper Avenue between 97-100 Street. During the construction, lanes will be reduced to 1 lane in either direction and the left turn northbound on 97 Street from Jasper Avenue will be closed.  As a result, nine routes will be on detour (2, 3, 5, 14, 100, 109, 161, 162 and 308) and three routes will stop at fewer bus stops (routes 88, 120 and 309).

Groat Road Detour

Routes 128 and 130, as well as School Specials 725 and 757 will detour away from Groat Road until the completion of the Bridge and Road Renewal project in Fall 2020. If you use these routes, please plan ahead. 

During this time, these routes will suspend service to University Transit Centre and will be redirected to serve Government Centre Transit Centre. This route will include stops near Corona and Grandin/Government Centre LRT stations.

Bus Stop Closures

Bus Stop #1379 Permanently Closed

Effective Monday, July 27, Bus Stop #1379 will be permanently closed. 

Please use one of these alternative bus stops:

  • Bus Stop #1059 (103 Street and 118 Avenue EB) for bus routes 8 and 9
  • Bus Stop #1373 (97 Street and 118 Avenue EB) for bus route 8
  • Bus Stop #1040 (97 Street and 118 Avenue NB) for bus route 9  
University Transit Centre Bus Stop Closed Until 2021

Bus stop #2001 will be closed at University Transit Centre for the duration of campus construction taking place near the transit centre. Passengers can use bus stop #2002 south of the transit centre to board Routes 4, 51, 54, 106 and 318.

Park & Ride

Stadium Paid Park & Ride Lot Changes

A portion of the Paid Park & Ride lot at Stadium Station will be closed until fall 2021 to help accommodate the Stadium LRT Station Redevelopment project. Current customers will be able to continue parking in this lot, but you may need to walk slightly further to get to the station.

Service Changes

Capital/Metro Line Trains

From October 5 until late-November, Capital and Metro Line trains will run every 15 minutes. This will result in 15-minute frequency between Churchill and Clareview, and between Churchill and NAIT. Frequency will average every 7.5 minutes from Churchill to Century Park.

Metro Line trains will continue to run between Century Park and NAIT all day for the project duration. 

On October 24 (from 9pm - end of service):

  • Capital Line trains run every 15 minutes between Century Park and Coliseum
  • Shuttle trains run every 15 minutes between Coliseum and Clareview

This means if you are travelling from Coliseum Station to Clareview Station, then you must exit the Capital Line train at Coliseum Station and board the shuttle train to Clareview Station. If you are travelling from Clareview to Coliseum station, you will take the shuttle train to Coliseum Station, then board the Capital Line train.
