Transportation Impact Assessment (TIA) Guidelines
Transportation Impact Assessments (TIA) may be requested in support of land development within the City of Edmonton to analyze and understand the traffic impacts of a proposed development. These guidelines have been developed to assist landowners, developers, and consultants in identifying situations where a TIA may be required, as well as the expected content, presentation, analysis methodology, and submission requirements.
Transportation Impact Guidelines (2016)
These are comprehensive guidelines for the development of TIAs, including requirements for levels of study, content, technical analysis, standards and methodology.
Infill Development Supplement (2021 Draft Edition)
This is a supplement to the 2016 Guidelines, with additional focus on infill development and considerations for the city’s developed areas. The supplement includes guidance on and links to recent policy and procedures, public engagement, active modes, transit and Transportation Demand Management (TDM), safe mobility, lanes (alleys), open option parking, and more.
Consultants are encouraged to use and provide feedback to Planning Coordination on this draft edition. A finalized version is anticipated later in 2021.
