The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has confirmed the presence of a highly pathogenic strain of avian flu in Alberta.
The health and well-being of our animals is our top priority. We have made the difficult but necessary decision to move all of our birds off exhibit until further notice. The Urban Farm has re-opened with non-avian animals.
Thank you for your patience and support during this time.

When the zoo reopened on March 25, memberships were extended for the number of days the zoo was closed to ensure members receive the full 12 months purchased. We also extended existing memberships by 1 month to offset the inconvenience of our indoor experiences remaining closed due to current provincial health orders.
Our online map and the Edmonton Valley Zoo app have been updated to show the paths you will be asked to follow. Directional signage is also in place, and staff will be onsite to help maintain the flow of traffic.
