On September 1, 2023, provincial road safety rules were changed to better protect roadside workers.
Our roadside maintenance, service and emergency workers are out on roads every day to ensure our transportation system is safe and convenient for everyone.
When you see stopped roadside vehicles with flashing lights on a road, move over to give workers space or slow down. It helps keep everyone safe, and it helps keep traffic flowing efficiently.
These rules apply to all public roads within and outside city limits. Failing to follow the rules could result in significant fines and penalties.
