The City worked with the Prince Charles Community in response to their expression of interest to look at the neighbourhood’s traffic challenges.

The Prince Charles neighbourhood is in northwest Edmonton, south of Yellowhead Trail and north of 118 Avenue.

Where We Are

The Community Traffic Management Plan process in Prince Charles is complete.

City Council approved the Community Traffic Management recommendations presented to the Urban Planning Committee on April 5, 2017. Since then, significant progress has been made in the permanent construction of the Community Traffic Management Plan:

  • On April 10, 2018, City Council approved the Road Closure Bylaw 18246 for 124 Street, just north of 123 Avenue.
  • A traffic signal was installed at 122 Street and 118 Avenue in May 2018.
  • Curb extensions and left turn modifications were constructed on 124 Street with Neighbourhood Renewal in 2018.
  • The concrete barriers at 124 Street and 123 Avenue remain in place until permanent construction of the road closure occurs in 2019 with Neighbourhood Renewal.
