Montrose-Newton Proposed Shared-Use Path Survey Live!

Please share your thoughts in our brief online survey by September 14, 2017.

Montrose and Newton Shared Use Path Survey

During public engagement for Montrose and Newton Neighbourhood Renewal projects, the City heard from residents about developing a formalized asphalt trail and lighting along the berm that runs south of Yellowhead Trail between 50 Street and 66 Street. The City is sharing its concept plan to gather additional feedback that will influence the trail design.

Project Update

Neighbourhood Renewal has begun in Montrose. Please anticipate that the duration of construction in front of your residences may be up to 12 weeks (weather dependent).

The construction consists of removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb and gutter, streetlight replacement as required, and reconstruction and paving of the road.

About the Program

Neighbourhood reconstruction is a type of neighbourhood renewal that involves road reconstruction and repaving, as well as replacement of streetlights and reconstruction of sidewalks, curb and gutter. Alley renewal is not part of neighbourhood reconstruction.

It also includes the opportunity for two local improvements, sidewalk renewal and decorative streetlights.

A series of public open houses will be scheduled which will give residents the opportunity to view the design plans and discuss details with the Project Team. Details of those meetings will be available on this page.
