Thank you to everyone who took the time to come meet the project team, and to view and share feedback on the draft design for the 162 Avenue Renewal project.
The City hosted 2 public engagement events to present a draft design for the renewal of 162 Avenue—one on November 25, 2019 for residents who live immediately next to the project area, and a community-wide drop-in event on November 27, 2019.

The draft design includes renewed road surface, the addition of a walking surface, curb and gutter construction, and upgraded street lighting. In addition, we are coordinating with CN Rail to install a new warning system for the rail crossing.
The draft design addresses what we heard from stakeholders and the public during previous engagement and the feedback gathered at these events will help to inform the final design for the renewal.
A draft concept was last presented to the community for feedback in October 2018. Further technical analysis revealed that construction of the draft design as presented would require additional drainage infrastructure, resulting in extensive impacts to private property and significantly increased costs.
