Proposed rezoning to allow for a mixed-use, high-rise tower.

A planning application has been received to rezone the southeast corner of Jasper Avenue NW and 100 Street NW. This proposal includes properties at 9955 Jasper Avenue NW, and 10085 100 Street NW.

The proposed rezoning will accommodate the development of a residential tower on a commercial base structure, and a publicly accessible plaza.

Public Engagement

Edmontonians were invited to a drop-in engagement session on April 30, 2019 to learn more about a proposed rezoning at the southeast corner of Jasper Avenue NW and 100 Street NW. 

Feedback will be summarized in a report to City Council when the proposed rezoning goes to a future Public Hearing for a decision.

About The Application

The proposed rezoning is from a DC2(E) Development Agreement to a Site Specific Development Control Provision (DC2).

This would allow the opportunity for a high-rise tower with the following characteristics:

  • A residential tower approximately 61 storeys (185 metres in height)
  • Commercial uses at grade
  • Underground parking
  • Setbacks to protect views of the Hotel Macdonald
  • A publicly accessible garden between the proposed building and the Hotel Macdonald
