A planning application (map) has been made to rezone 7008 28 Avenue NW and 7319 29 Avenue NW in the Kameyosek neighbourhood.

The current zoning is Urban Services Zone (US).

The proposed zoning is Site-Specific Development Control Provision (DC2) to allow for:

  • A mixed-use development containing a range of medical, commercial, and residential uses with up to 35,000 square meters of non-residential space and 600 residential units
  • Building heights up to 40 meters (approximately 11 storeys) on the northwestern part of the site and up to 26 meters (approximately 7 storeys) on the southeastern part of the site
  • A mix of surface and underground parking

The proposed rezoning conforms with the intent of the Mill Woods Development Concept Plan, which supports a mix of uses in this location including medium/high-density residential, commercial, and health and social services.

Closure of a portion of 28 Avenue NW west of Lakewood Road East

A planning application (map) has been approved to close a portion of 28 Avenue NW right-of-way adjacent to 7319 29 Avenue NW (former Grant MacEwan University South Campus).

The purpose of the application is to consolidate the road closure area with 7319 29 Avenue NW to facilitate development of a community medical campus.

Note: This road closure application has been withdrawn

A planning application (map) has been received proposing to close a portion of road-right-of-way adjacent to 6620 28 Avenue NW. 

The closed area may be available for sale to neighbouring land owners.

Once closed, it is proposed that the area will be consolidated with the neighbouring lot at 6620 28 Avenue NW to enlarge an existing parking lot or accommodate the redevelopment and expansion of buildings on the site.
