The application proposes to rezone the property from Highway Corridor Zone (CHY) to General Business Zone (CB2).

The proposed CB2 Zone will provide for businesses that require large Sites and a location with good visibility and accessibility along or adjacent to major public roadways. This zone also accommodates limited Residential-related uses.

An associated amendment to the Cashman Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) is also proposed to redesignate the subject site as well as adjacent sites from Highway Commercial to General Commercial.

An area west of Calgary Trail and south of Ellerslie Road SW

A planning application (map) has been made to amend the Cashman Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) for an area west of Calgary Trail and south of Ellerslie Road SW.

The application proposes to remove the label for “Potential Road Connection between 103A Street and Service Road” from all relevant figures of the Cashman NASP. The label is proposed to be removed to eliminate the need for this road connection.

The existing service road is under the jurisdiction of Alberta Transportation, and may be closed in the future as part of the upgrades to Highway 2 in the area. There are no plans or timelines as to when and if this may occur.
