This application proposes to rezone the site from Public Utility Zone (PU) to Urban Institutional Zone (UI) to enable the expansion of NAIT’s Main Campus.
The purpose of the proposed UI Zone is to provide for facilities of an educational or institutional nature, within mature areas of the city, that could include additional uses that would complement the institutional development.
There is also an associated amendment to the UI Zone that adjusts vehicle and bicycle parking requirements for the NAIT Main Campus as well as development regulations that are specific to this site, including the addition of interim uses such as, but limited to, essential utility services, temporary storage and general industrial uses.
