Save your jack-o-lanterns, and bring them to Compost School on Saturday November 5 from 1-4pm for our annual Pumpkin Smash.
Come and drop, bop, smash or bash your pumpkin, and learn about how we turn them into compost.
Bins, tools and methods are on display, so you can learn how each performs. Try them out — there's one that is right for you.
Open to explore year-round. Compost School is on City parkland so you can view the displays at your leisure. Call our helpline if you have questions at 780-668-0217.
Please be kind and maintain a safe distance if someone asks you to.
Cost: It's free to drop in.
Hours: The site is open around the clock to give residents access to the different styles of composting bins. Food scraps can be dropped off at any time. For questions after hours, contact 780-668-0217.
Location: Between the John Janzen Nature Centre and Fort Edmonton. Find us on Google Maps.
Our staff and volunteers are ready to answer your questions or even visit your yard to help you compost better.
