Construction and Demolition Waste Program Changes
As of January 1, 2020, and until further notice, the EWMC will no longer accept waste at the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Facility for recycling.

The EWMC will continue to accept C&D waste for landfilling under the residential and non-residential waste fee structures.

Negotiations are underway with a third party C&D operator. We anticipate the new contractor will reopen the EWMC C&D facility by spring 2020.

In the meantime, the EWMC will continue to accept C&D waste for landfilling at the residential and non-residential waste fee structures.

Aggregate Recycling

Concrete and asphalt continue to be accepted at aggregate recycling locations.

Mixed C&D Recycling

Mixed loads of material are diverted from landfill and either sold to recycling processors or used in the City's operations.

Loads must not contain asbestos.

Please dispose of paint, adhesives, solvents and other hazardous materials at an approved facility for commercial waste.

Mixed loads should consist primarily of:

  • wood
  • metal
  • asphalt/concrete (maximum size 80x80 cm)
  • cardboard
  • clean film plastic
  • drywall (clean and unpainted)

Loads must be segregated in order to receive fees listed.

Concrete and asphalt are also accepted at Aggregate Recycling locations.
