The C&D Facility, based at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, offers an environmentally friendly and convenient way to recycle construction materials. There are two options: mixed C&D recycling or segregated C&D recycling.
Mixed C&D Recycling
Mixed loads of material are diverted from landfill and either sold to recycling processors or used in the City's operations. Mixed loads should consist primarily of the following materials:
- asphalt/concrete (maximum size 80x80 cm)
- drywall (clean and unpainted)
Loads must not contain asbestos. Please dispose of paint, adhesives, solvents and other hazardous materials at an approved facility for commercial waste.
Processing Change - Asphalt shingles will no longer be accepted in mixed loads of C&D waste effective March 1, 2017.
