We offer a variety of financial incentives for different sectors in Edmonton. See which ones apply to you and make a Change For Climate.

Change Homes for Climate

Solar Map and Rebate

In partnership with Google and MyHeat, Edmonton is the first municipality in Canada to access a new rooftop solar potential platform. This new tool provides a bird’s eye view of every rooftop and helps homeowners understand their solar potential and the environmental and financial benefits they can expect. Edmontonians ready to go solar are eligible for the Solar Rebate Program to save up to $4,000 towards the installation of a solar electric system for their home.

Change Buildings for Climate

Building Energy Benchmarking Program

Our Building Energy Benchmarking Program improves building energy efficiency, and contributes to significant energy savings and greenhouse gas reduction by providing owners with information about their building. The program supports building owners and operators to reduce energy consumption.

Building Energy Retrofit Accelerator Program

The Building Energy Retrofit Acclerator (BERA) Program helps facilitate renovations that improve energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings. Upgrades to HVAC systems, windows, lighting fixtures, building envelopes and more are eligible for rebates, up to $125,000 per building, per year.

Change Mobility for Climate

Electric Vehicle Charger and Electric Bike (ECEB) Rebate

The Electric Vehicle Charger and Electric Bike (ECEB) rebate program helps Edmontonians electrify their transportation. The electric bike rebate covers 30% of the cost of an e-bike, and 50% of the installed cost of a charger for both residential and commercial properties.

Change Communities for Climate

EcoCity Edmonton Grants

We partnered with Alberta Ecotrust to provide EcoCity Edmonton grants to support those who want to collaborate and to create positive environmental change. The grants are available to non-profits, community leagues, schools and charities.

CitiesIPCC Legacy Grants

With support from Alberta EcoTrust, we offer the CitiesIPCC Legacy research grants to help advance knowledge about how Edmonton can become an energy sustainable and climate resilient city.

Brownfield Redevelopment Grants
