Newcomer's guide

Welcome to Edmonton! The newest edition of the Newcomer's Guide to Edmonton features 63 pages of essential information to help new residents settle in our beautiful city. The Newcomers' Guide to Edmonton was produced with the input and suggestions of many people who use the guide including newcomers, settlement workers, English language instructors, and cultural brokers.

If you are new to Edmonton from another part of Alberta, Canada, or the world, the Newcomers' Guide to Edmonton has information about many services that will help you to settle in your new city. The information is divided into these sections:

For more information, new Edmontonians are welcome to visit the Citizen and New Arrival Information Centre on the main floor of City Hall. New residents are also encouraged to phone the City of Edmonton's 311 line which has interpreters for over 150 different languages for those who speak languages other than English.
