Financial empowerment is an approach to poverty reduction that focuses on improving the financial security and well-being of Edmontonians.

Access to financial resources and information helps individuals to make informed decisions about their finances.

The City of Edmonton promotes opportunities to acquire skills and improve access to supports that enhance financial security and well being. The City works with a variety of community partners, including the Edmonton Financial Empowerment Collaborative to support people living on a low income to expand their financial knowledge, reduce debt, grow savings and build assets.
